Reflexology

The natural and non invasive art of reflexology is based upon the principle that the reflexes in the feet, hands and ears correspond to every part of the body. A reflexologist uses their hands, especially the thumbs, to apply pressure to these reflexes to help unblock the energy, allowing the body to heal itself. The quantity and location of the pressure to the reflexes, as well as the effect of the reflexology treatment, will depend upon the unique needs of each individual.

Reflexology is suitable for individuals of all ages and is an effective method of creating well being and vitality, allowing the body to preserve a state of balance. An increasing number of individuals have integrated reflexology into their lifestyle, particularly as the ever-increasing levels of physical, mental, and emotional stress caused by everyday life can create pressure within the body and mind. Reflexology therapy is thus an effective method for relaxing the body and mind to relieve stress and restore the feeling of well-being.

Reflexology Aftercare Advice

After a Reflexology treatment, it is common for your feet to feel warm and relaxed. You may feel sleepy or energised. Your body may feel hot or even shivery as your blood pressure changes when you are relaxed or revitalised.

To get the most out of your received treatment you should:

  1. Drink plenty of water - to help flush out the toxins that have just been
    released
  2. Avoid alcohol, tea, coffee, or any other stimulants for at least 12 hours after
    the treatment
  3. Rest after the treatment - to allow the body to heal and settle.
  4. Only eat a light meal
  5. Take care if driving or working.  Allow your body to rest to enable the full
therapeutic benefit of the oils to take effect
  6. Avoid strenuous activity for the next 12 hours

Please record any adverse effects you experience.
